Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing

Uses conventional compression or longitudinal and shear wave energy but through the computerized software it allows multiple angles to be produced from a single transducer. Including best-in-industry equipment such as the Zetec TOPAZ 16.

Can be used to Detect:

• Volumetric Defects in welds (Porosity, Slag)
• Planar Defects (Crack Indications, Lack of Fusion, Mid-Wall Laminations)
• Thickness measurements
• Corrosion inspection

Zetec Paintbrush – An extremely agile, hand-held scanner that can operate on both flat and curved surfaces, providing the confidence of 100% area coverage. Its two encoded wheels that track the position of the scanner in real time allow the operator to visually identify areas that have not been covered. Extremely useful for inspecting thickness, mid-wall and inside diameter connected anomalies.

AUT Automated Scanning – 2-axis AccuScan scanner for scanning pipe greater than 2” outside
diameter. Full circumferential scanning with 100% coverage. Extremely useful for inspecting large areas

Creaform 3D Scanning

Incorporates the HandySCAN 3D™ portable handheld 3D scanner and
Pipecheck™ NDT software, both of which allow automatic on-site inspection, detection and
characterization of pipe external defects such as corrosion, dents, and gouges in the metal. Accuracy up
to 0.040 mm (0.0016 in.)

MID-PRO (Material Identification Process)

A non-destructive process which allows operators to determine the material properties of unknown carbon steel material in their systems.

• Instrumented Indentation Technique (IIT): this testing method obtains yield and tensile strength
utilizing the indentation load-depth curve. It measures various mechanical properties related to
deformation and fracture with the indentation load-depth curve.
• Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES): A well trusted and widely used analytical technique used
to determine the chemical composition and concentrations of a broad range of metals. It can also
produce carbon equivalency (CE) readings for weldability.
• Hardness Testing: The hardness measurements are made using proven industry trusted
technology.

  • Daily field reports that includes data gathered for a particular dig, photos, remaining strength calculations (KAPA or RSTRENG)
  • Daily Report to include time and equipment utilized and signed by customer representative each day
  • Formal report will go through internal quality control prior to client submittal, all within 5 days of completion of the dig assessment.
